### **Why Is Making Dua Essential?**

During the journey of Umrah, every ibadat (ibadah) is an act of worship to Allah.
By making [duas](https://muslimhands.org.uk/latest/2019/08/a-list-of-essential-duas-for-hajj-and-umrah),
you not only find peace in your heart but also seek Allah’s help and blessings for
all your needs. Dua acts as a shield of protection, guarding you from hardships
and the whispers of Shaytan. Prophet Muhammad ﷺ said: **_“Dua is the essence of
worship.”_ (Tirmidhi 3371)**

When you intend to perform Umrah, from the very beginning to the end, you need to
strengthen your connection with Allah through duas. Reciting the **Talbiyah (Labbaik
Allahumma Labbaik)** is a declaration of obedience to Allah, the very essence of
Umrah.

### **How to Prepare for Duas?**

Before starting on your journey, it is important to either write down or memorize
the duas you need. If you don’t understand Arabic, ensure you learn the meanings
of these duas. This way, you won’t just recite them but also feel their depth in
your heart. Every ibadat (ibadah) has specific duas, such as:

 * **During Ihram:** Recite the Talbiyah.
 * **During Tawaf:** Make dua for forgiveness.
 * **During Sa’i:** Pray for patience and strength.

### **What Happens If Duas and Talbiyah Are Not Recited?**

If you neglect making duas and reciting the Talbiyah during Umrah, you miss out
on immense blessings and rewards. Dua is a way of expressing love and gratitude
to Allah. Those who perform worship without making duas lose the spiritual essence
of their actions.

**Origins and References:**

The practice of making duas and reciting the Talbiyah started during the time of
Prophet Muhammad ﷺ. When you wear Ihram and recite the Talbiyah, you are echoing
the very words recited by the Prophet ﷺ and his companions during Umrah and Hajj.
This is mentioned in the Quran: **_“And proclaim to the people the Hajj (pilgrimage);
they will come to you on foot and on every lean camel; they will come from every
distant pass.”_ (Surah Al-Hajj 22:27)**

**Benefits of Making Duas During Umrah:**

 1. **Spiritual Peace:** Duas bring calmness to the heart and mind.
 2. **Forgiveness:** Each ritual provides a chance to seek forgiveness from Allah.
 3. **Connection with Allah:** Duas draw you closer to Allah.
 4. **Protection:** Duas safeguard you from harm and evil.

Therefore, don’t treat your journey of Umrah as just another trip or holiday trip.
Make it a deeply spiritual experience where every dua brings you closer to Allah.
May Allah accept our duas and worship. Ameen.

### **The Power of Duas During Your Journey**

Embarking on this sacred journey of Hajj or Umrah is a profound experience, filled
with opportunities for spiritual growth and connection with Allah. Along the way,
reciting duas—supplications to Allah—can transform your trip into an even more rewarding
and peaceful endeavor.

**A Shield of Protection**
Imagine traveling with the comforting assurance that
you are under divine care. When you recite duas asking Allah for safety and protection,
you invite His mercy to guard you against accidents, hardships, or unexpected challenges.
These prayers remind you that no matter where you are, Allah’s watchful presence
is always there to protect and guide you.

**A Focus on the Spiritual Mission**
Hajj and Umrah are more than just physical
journeys; they are acts of devotion aimed at drawing closer to Allah. Along the
way, it’s easy to become distracted by the logistics of travel or the bustling environment.
Duas help you stay connected to your spiritual goals, keeping your heart and mind
focused on seeking forgiveness, mercy, and Allah’s infinite blessings.

**Following the Prophetic Example**
Our beloved Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon
him) never missed an opportunity to remember Allah during his travels. By following
his example and incorporating duas into your journey, you not only earn divine rewards
but also feel a deeper sense of connection to Allah. Every whispered prayer becomes
a step closer to fulfilling the spiritual essence of your journey.

So, as you prepare for Hajj or Umrah, make reciting duas a regular part of your
travel routine. They will protect you, keep you spiritually centered, and fill your
journey with countless blessings. Let your heart be your compass, guided by the
power of dua.
